 ~ Theatre in the Streets

The physical copy of my undergraduate dissertation, explores the question:

To what extent did the visual identity and communications of the Black Panther Party strengthen their activist message, compared to associated movements from the Vietnam era and/or racial injustice movements?

I explore ideas around the afro, Panther uniform, artistic expression, the Black Panther News Service, 21st-century references, and so on.
The title “Theatre in the Streets” comes from a statement from Jerry Rubin of the Yippies where he describes activism, revolution, and the Panthers as “Theatre in the Streets”.
